Fu Jen Catholic University’s (FJCU) College of Medicine (COM) established the Department of Public Health as well as the Department of Nursing in 1990. Subsequently, from 1993 to 2008, COM established the School of Medicine and the Department of Clinical Psychology, as well as graduate programs for nursing, public health, and clinical psychology; it also set up the Department of Occupational Therapy as well as a two-year in-service program in the Department of Nursing. The Graduate Institute of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Science and the Department of Respiratory Therapy were established in 2005 and 2008 respectively. As a response to the global phenomenon of ageing societies, the MS Program in Transdisciplinary Long Term Care was set up in 2012. Since the use of big data computing and the development of biomedical industries were on the rise both domestically and internationally, the Master's Program of Big Data in Biomedicine and the PhD Program of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology were established in 2017. The College of Medicine aims to cultivate well-rounded medical professionals with specialties ranging from preventive healthcare to clinical care, as well as develop talented researchers in field of medicine.
