In order to promote Taiwan’s development and efforts in green energy, the Fu Jen Creative Design Center collaborated with Sure Can Aquaculture Solutions Inc. to produce a video showcasing the company’s use of innovative technology (floating photovoltaic system installed on fish farms) and how it drove the upgrade of Taiwan's entire aquaculture industry with an environmentally friendly attitude. For specific actions on campus, FJCU’s Office of Accounting has formulated budgeting principles based on SDGs, and provided sustainable development funding to each department to support the purchase of green energy resources; in order to save energy and reduce carbon emissions, documents for account reconciliation and records have been digitized to cut back on paper, toner, and phone usage. In addition, the General Affairs Office has implemented the following energy-saving measures to create a sustainability demonstration campus that boasts comfort, safety, and low energy consumption: enhancing the power and water resource monitoring and management systems; expanding the use of power-saving systems in classrooms; installing centralized two-wire lighting control and smart street lighting systems; replacing existing light fixtures and air conditioners with LEDs and inverter type air conditioners; increasing the generation capacity of solar power systems; adding heat pump hot water systems; installing energy recovery devices for elevators; expanding the rainwater recycling system; constructing a reclaimed water system for the campus sewage treatment plant; expanding the usage of condensation collection facilities ; covering roofs with thermal insulation paint; expanding the usage of permeable paving on roads; digging utility tunnels; and optimizing the drainage system.
